We were both start-ups, so to speak.
In 2021, an old friend pitched his new yoga & wellness start-up Flowell to me. His enthusiasm was contagious, and I was eager to help if an opportunity were to ever arise. A few months later, it did.
He was looking for a blog writer; I was looking to break into freelance writing. It was a perfect match. Flowell’s marketing director taught me about SEO best practices and I quickly learned to adapt my writing style to these principles. It was a far cry from the analytical writing I do at my day job or the satire I write for fun. Over the next several months, I regularly contributed to Flowell’s blog and helped them refine their website content as they got off the ground and rapidly grew as a company. During the time I wrote for Flowell, their site traffic increased by a staggering 4000%! I was thrilled to see them grow and proud to have played a part in it.
